Thura.. April 16, 1936. j Mortal f Mrs. H. Bueck, Phone l. srxnS (Thomas Burke G.ay) Along about this time o' year, I always feel a thrill. When the Jonquils are a-bloomin' With the Jum-ups or. the hill; And in the distant meadows. The Robin and the Lark Are singin' while the violets Are peekin' in the Park. , The buds are burstin' in the trees And busy bees buzz there And perfume from the burstin' buds 1 opillcd out or. the ?!?* ' l The vines are greenin' at the door , Of every cottage small, I While lonely Catbirds in the trees < 1 To other Catbirds call. ,| The Mockin'-bird, oh,* sweeter sings \ Than e'er he sang before, , When in the graying light of dawn i He sings before my door! ^ i The Cardinal hai plumed his crest, ' c And Blackbirds passin' thru, v Are singin' to their hearts' content j To ears that hear anew; n C Tor Spring her magic wand takes up j] To weave a magic spell, / And every green thing in the fields p Begins to burst or swell. p " f The rain has almost washed awa7 # Debris that winter left, 1 a And Buttercups begin to peep j a From every rocky cleft. " ' [a J4 Oh! it's ft time when hearts are glad, y And every heart must sing. ' o Or pluck a lover's melody s On instrumental string. f . A Then when the evenin' stars come out f, And peacefully we sit. p We watch across the meadows wide p While other lamps are lit. J h The day is done. The organ playh ' To guide us as we sing , The new, yet still the old, old song. The lovely Song of Spring. '{ Butlej?Biedstrup ?
