Thursday, Oct. 1, 193' | Mortal I Mrs. H. Bueck, Phon< MY DOG AND I By Isia Paschal Richardson You it beside my chair. Your gaze I'uwav :ir.g and deep shines through A shaggy fringe of hair. I shrink? Unworthy of your estimate Of me, your steadfast loyalty. What are the thoughts behind those clear And searching eyes? My enemies And friends both see me as I am? A mortal full of frailties. And you. whose love would follow me Into the deepest pit of woe, I wonder if you do not see beyond The erring human self of me, Beholding aii the good i would Embody, all the heights I seek, Yet unattained? Do you look through The failures and mistakes and see Me as the man 1 want to be? WILLIAMS?PAYNE Mr. and Mrs. .1. M. Payne, of Suit, announce the marriage of their daughter, Eunice, to Mr. Harold F.
