Local Library To Observe Book Week At a meeting of the trustees of the Murphy Library it was decided that during National Book week which comes Nov. 1"j-21 that a special drive would be made to obtain Childrens Books. Because of the large number of boys and girls using the library the year round books of inteiest to them are badly worn and the supply very inadequate. The librarian Miss Heigh way says she has had to discard a great many of these worn books lately and has none to put in their place. Except for the donations to the library there is no provision for replacing or putting in additional books. For several years past the Woman's Club has given books, money and magazine subscriptions each year and a lew books have come from other sources, but just now funds are needed to get those books that are needed most for the children. This year the Junior Woman's club has given the magazine subscriptions and the Woman's Club is donating a shelf of modern books. Other organizations are going to ask to donate and individuals will be called upon. During Book Week a special effort! will be made to secure funds so that | the books the librarian has in mind may be purchased. Members of the Charity League will canvass the town for funds. Do not wait to be asked send your contribution to Miss Heighway or to any one of the trustees. And amount will be appreciated.
