Lovingood. 60. who passed away at
her home here Tuesday night follow
ing an illness of one and a half years,
were conducted Thursday afternoon
at 2 o'clock from the First Baptist
church, with the pastor. Rev. J. C.
Amnions, officiating. Interment was
in Hangingdog cemetery. I\1e funeral
home has charge of arrangements.

Nearly $40,000,000 will be
spent this year by Southern
Bell for new construction and
general expansion to meet the
South's increasing telephone
needs. New central offices,
buildings and local and long
distance lines are being put
into service, and the net gain
in new telephones is expected
to reach 1 1 5,000 this year.

All landowners of Cherokee County will take notice that
the Board of Equalization and Review for said County will
meet at the office of the Board of County Commissioners
of Cherokee County, in the Courthouse, in Murphy, N. CM
on the 24th day of March, 1941, and thereafter, and that
any and all complaints as to over-valuation or undei-valu
ation will be heard on dates and by Townships as follows:
Notice is hereby given that the valuations of each Town
ship will be taken up on dates mentioned. If the equalizat
ions in any Township are not completed on the day men
tioned, the work in connection with that Township will be
continued on the following day until it is completed, and
immediately upon its completion the next Township as
above listed will be begun and continued until the entire
work of equalization and review is completed.
