Keenum and Glenn were forced to park their car and trudge three miles through the snow to school last Monday, only to find all classes dismissed, for an indefinite period, a few minutes af ter arlrval. Principal Boss Carroll announced three would be no more school until the school busses are able to function. Meanwhile, the school Is planning a box supper, and cake and candy walks, with "regular" dancing to fol low. on Saturday evening, at 8 o'clock. A large group | from the 6tn Infantry medical and signal corps, at Fort Brags plan to attend if they can get passes, and the roads permit. The Santilla line was out for sev eral hours Monday, and part of Tuesday, due to heavy snow. Rich ards and his crew worked practically all night Monday before finally lo cating the trouble between Santill and Murphy. Both Mr. Richards and nis men were deeply concerned over hospital patients as well as other consumers. and their pliglu spurred him on his tedious task. We are grateful to these men who seldom are neard of. except on occasions like this. They are the men behind he scenes, whose untiring efforts keep cur lights burning and the lines up and "clear." Telephone service was severed, due to lines being down. Mr. Cordes had to go all the way to Murphy to noti fy Mr. Richards, in Copperhlll .of the power trouble. Messrs. Donaldson ano Smith were stranded at Copperhlli, due to Im passable roads. Mr. Biggs report* a large number of auto wrecks between the Dam and Notley. An article written by Private, First Class "BUI" Paddock, who made hosts of friends while he was sta tioned on guard here, has been print ed in the Camp newspaper at Fort Bragg. It tells o fhls experiences at the Dam. and sings the praises of both the place and the people.
