The topic for the month is "Assets for Building a New World." Mrs. Lloyd Hendrix was pro gram leader. "A New Year's Dawn With a New World to Build'' was the topic for discussion. Five assets, 'Peace", "Democracy", "Prosperity", "Power" and "Gos pel", were presented by Mrs. J. C. Ammons, Mrs. Robert Heid, Mrs. Savage, Mrs. A. E. Vestal, and Mrs. Henry Hyatt, respectively. The meeting was closed with meditation and prayer by Mrs. J. C. Ammons. Twenty members were present. ? ? I noon with Mrs. L A. Frasch at her home on Valley River avenue. Mrs. J. B. Gray, president, pre sided at the meeting which was (pened with prayer by Mrs. T. G. late, and heard the report of the treasurer. Mrs. Ben Vaught, Mrs. R. G Alexander and Mrs. R. S. Parkei were appointed a committee to nominate officers for the coming ! >ear, which begins the first of | April. Arrangements were made for the Foreign Mission study to be held at j the February meeting. The book to be studied is " Our Work in the I Congo." Mrs. R .H. Mr. and Mrs. Walls lave returned to Austin where hey will be employed, after a short wedding trip. Mr. Walls was discharged from he Army November 23, after pending five years in service, 14 nonths of which were spent over eas. He was wounded in Novem 'er, 1944. Walls has the following lecorations: Purple Heart. E. T. O MRS. ELLEN JONES Funeral services were held toi Mrs. Ellen Jones, who was 82 years of age, at the Swanson church Thursday at 11 o'clock.
