On our last visit Mrs. Williams
had canned six quarts of straw
berries after supplying the family
from 500 plants set out in Febru
ary. These plants were still bear
ing and additional cans will be
filled.
Mr. Williams has a fine crop of
corn, clover, hay, stock beets
beans, potatoes, tobacco, and
, plenty of pasture for his .livestock.

J. H. Coffey, Brasstftwn, has just
selected and put 1200 pullets in
his new two story poultry house.
G. W. Williamson. Patrick, has
one of the nicest gardens in the
county^J In his garden you will
find peas, beans, carrots, parsnips,
turnips, corn, lettuce, onions, cab
bage, and beets. They practice
successive planting throughout the
spring, summer and fall.
Mrs. Fred Hannan. Andrews, has
a storage house that is well filled
with a variety of food: peaches,
apples, berries, jams, vegetables of
all kinds and meats. There you
will also find fat for making soap,
and bins for storing potatoes and
other vegetables.
In 1946 about 50 farm dwellers
will die each day from accidents
and three farm people will be in
jured every minute. An alarming
total.
Bee hives should face the south
or southeast and should not be in
a heavily shaded spot. A good
young queen placed in the hive
now will assure a strong force of
workers to live over the winter.
