For R. I. Queen
Funeral services for Robert I.
Queen, 67, who died Friday morn
ing at the home of a son. Wayne
Queen of Murphy, after an extend
ed illness, were held Saturday at
2 p m in Marble Baptist Church.
The Rev. Mr. Bvers officiated
and burial was in Moss Cemetery
with Townson Funeral Home in
charge. He was a native of Graham
County and had resided for many
years in Buncombe and Cherokee
Counties.
Survivors include two daugh
ters. Mrs Troy Hurt of Marble
and Mrs Fred Hurt of Murphy:
four sons. Wayne of Murphy, Vin
son of Gastonia. Sheridan of Mary
ville. Tcnn . Fred of Asheville; one
sister. Mrs. Pearl Jewell of Lan
drum. S C., and 20 grandchildren.

Gilbert Carroll and his sister,
Mrs Clifton Kephart. have return
ed home after a week's visit with
vhcir brother, Frank Carroll, of
Detroit, Mich. On their way to De
'roit they stopped by Canton for
a visit with their brother. A. J.
Carroll.
While in Detroit they enjoyed a
u p to Canada. They were accom
panied on this trip by their sister
and brother-in-law. Mr. and Mrs.
Harry Dunskey. of Upland. Calif.
whom they hadn't seen for the
past 16 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Dunskey had been
visiting here with them and an
other sister, Mrs. Thad Stiles, and
other relatives.
