Mrs. Lewis Hodges, president, presided over the business session, and Mrs. Harvey Wilson spoke on the ivtw revised version of the Bi ble which comes out September 30. Re'resbments were served to 20 members snd one visitor, the Rev. 'rank Brown, after which Mrs. Frank Brown was presented a stork shower through a unique game directed by Mrs. Bob Rector and Mrs. Irvin Greene. Many lov ely rifts were received by the hon oret. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Cloe Moore, Mrs. R. H. Foard. Mrs Ann Phillips and Mrs. Savage.. Circle Meets With Mrs. J. B. Hall Mrs. J. B. Mrs. McKeever Elected Teacher Of Esther Class Mrs. W H. McKeever was elect ed teacher of Esther Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church. Murphy, when the clans met at the home of Mrs. Vincent Stiles Monday evening. Mrs. Lay was elected assistant teacher. The class elected Mrs. Verlin Jones as president for the ensuing year Others elected were: Mem bership vice-president, Mrs. M. B. Wright; stewardship. Mrs John tmmons; fellowship, Mrs. Jack Crawford; secretary, Mrs. Kenneth Caldwell; treasurer, Mrs. Jack Craig; group captains. Mrs. Dewey Garrett and Jewell Miller; publi city chairman. Ruby Davis. Mrs. J. B. Hall gave the devo tional. and prayer was offered by Mrs. Walter Puett. Mrs. Ruby Stiles, former presi dent, was in charge of the busi ness session. Mrs. McKeever clos ed the business session with pray er. Refreshments were served to 18 members present McCayesville Gospel Quartet will sing at Harmony Tabernacle Tuesday evening, September 30. The church Is located two miles east of Murphy. Circle Meets With Mts. W. A. Bell The Lottie Moon Circle of the1 Wonua'i Missionary Society at First Baptist Church, Murphy, met Tt'e;day afternoon with Mrs. W. A. Bell. Mrs. Hsdley Dickey opened the program with the hymn, "Lowe That Wilt Not Let Me Go". Mrs. H. C. Presley gave the devotional. All members took part in the program on the subject, "Japan's Puzzled People". Mrs. Jack Roberts showed a book. "Japan in Pictures", sent her by her daughter, Kathleen, who is stationed In Japan. Refreshments were served by the hostess during the social hour which followed. Eight members were present. I Margaret Ledford To Wed A. R. Garza Mr. and MrsAJ. C. Ledford an nounce the engagement of their daughter, Margaret Sue, of Wash ington, D. C., to S/Sgt. Antonio R Garza, Jr., of San Diego. Texas Miss Ledford is employed In Washington as the' secretary of a law firm. Sgt. Garza is in the Air Force and Is In Arabia for a year. The marriage will take place In the early faM of next year.
