Konnaheeta Club ] , Hears Mrs.Bacon Mrs. Harold L. Bacon, state Lit erature chairman of the North Carolina Federation Women': Clubs, presented the goals of the Literature Department for the cur rent year of the Konnaheeta Club during a dinner meeting at Shell Dining Room in Andrews. Thurs day evening, Oct. 16. Mrs. Bacon called for reading groups with special emphasis on books of the Middle East. She also asked for essay and short story. contests to be conducted In the local high school Mrs. Bacon introduced Helen j Ktttrell. Fontana Regional libra rian, who reviewed W. O. Douglas' book. Strange Lands and Friendly People. The entire program was under the direction of the Literature De-1 partment, with Mrs. Galusha Pul liutn. chairman. "Mr. Texas" To Be Shown In Murnhv "Mr. Texas", a movie produced and published by Evangelist Billy Graham and his team of workers, will be shown at the First Bap tist Church at 8 p. m. Tuesday Oct. 28. This picture has been seen in many parts of the country by thousands of people and has been shown in some churches as many as three tiroes to overflowing crowds. Appalachian Alumni Reunion Be Nor.' 1 Cherokee County alumni of Appalachian State Teachers Col lege will join other alumni at the 53rd annual homecoming celebra tion at the school In Boone, Sat urday, Nov. 1.
