dancers and singers will gather to
gether for the three-day event,
with more than 000 hoys and girls
expected to participate.
Cu-Chairman Charles Alley and

ures Indicate that team entries may
exceed the more than 20 square
dance teams entered last year.
Old "troupers" like 7-year-old
Charlie Hayniq, who walked off
with the Native Talent Trophy two
years ago, Is expected back this
year, and will be playing his own
guitar.
Other individuals performers In
clude Carolyn Splvey and Patsy
Edwards, both of whom are In
dividual talent champions. Patsy,
by-the-way, was asked to tour with
the "Grand Ole Opry" Company
last summer.
Hubert Hayes, manager of the
City Auditorium, and creator of
this annual Jaycee project, says
that applications for the fifth Ann
ual Mountain Youth Jamboree are
now being received, and that only
bona-fide grammer and high school
students of Western North Caro
lina and East Tennessee are el
igible.
Mr. Hayes, who directs and acts
as master of oeromonies of the
show. Is also author of "Thunder
land," scheduled to open June 26
through Labor Day, September 7.

are 1953 state winners, the Nation
al 4-tH Committee has announced.
