Beef Now Said Abundant Beef U abundant?the top item on the U. S. Record numbers of cattle coming to market have brought beef prices in recent weeks to the lowest point in many years. Farley points out This high production of beef, coup led with the lower prices, hive earned beef a spot on USDA'e plentiful foods list for the first time in the history of the program. When buying fresh beef, Mr. Farley cautioned that it should be stored, loosely covered, in the cold est part of the refrigerator and should be used within a few days. Variety meats such as liver are es pecially perishable and should be used within two days, while ground beef, unless frosen, should be held only one day, Farley explained.
