STEVE CRAWFORD. DINK EL LIOTT, BILL THOMPSON, and BILLY RAE RAMSEY came home from Marietta. BOBBY BOLING is home for the summer from Boiling Springs where he was atttendlng college. Saturday night ADAIR ARON SON gave a swimming party at his pool in his yard. Refreshments were served on tables outdoors under the lights. Some of the ones present were: LARRY POSEY, SAMMY WHITE, BOBBY BOL ING, STEVE CRAWFORD. BIL LY RAE RAMSEY. EDWIN COLE, RAE SMITH. BILL BRANDON, GLENDA IVIE, BILLIE JANE RUSH, BARBARA RHOADS. CAROLYN ALEXANDER, KAY BURGESS. JUDY NICHOLS, and the host. BILL BRANDON came home for several days. He has been playing with the Bristol Twins in Bristol, Virginia. The Summer Recreation Pro gram started June 1 at the Mur phy Ball Park. There were 110 tthere for the opening day and | more are expected. The boys and girls played ping pong, football, had sack races, bubble gum con test. and other games. Ice cream was served to all. Mrs. Baruett Mrs. Browning Have Circle Mr*. Ed Baraett and Mr*. E. A. drowning were Joint hostesses for the Mae Perry Cincle of the Bap tist Missionary Society Tuesday of last week at the home of Barnett. Mr*. Henry Hyatt presided in che absence of Mrs. E. J. Darnell, chairman. "Christ For the Whole Wide World" was the opening hymn fol lowed by prayer by Mrs. Ben Palmer. Glenda Ivie gave the devotional on the topic "As Plants Grow Up." "Excellent Way tor Excellent Youth" was the topic discussed by Mrs. Palmer, Mrs- Tom Evans and Mrs. Hyatt. In closing, Sally Morris sang two numbers with Glenda Ivie at the piano. After a short business session, the hostesses served refreshments to eight members and two visitors. Mrs. Witherspoon Hostess To Regal Mrs. Don Witherspoon, Mrs. W. H. McKeever and Mrs. Bessie De weese were joint hostesses for the meeting of th Regal Club last Fri day night at the home of Mrs. Witherspoon. } Mrs. Ruby Hill, president, pre-' sided, and reported that she and ' Mrs. J. H. McCall had supervised the planting of canna bulbs, which had been donated by a friend, in McCall Park. Other flowers will be planted. The club is interested in laying out picnics grounds and plan to contact the District Highway chair man who will assist in establishing picnic grounds along tbe highways it is reported. Mrs. Johnsie Nunn was in charge of the program and made a talk on Public welfare. Fifteen members were present. Refreshments were served by the hostesses. MALLONEE RECOVERING J. A. CHURCH WORKER MISS PERRY Miss Sarah Perry of Wingate last week took up her duties here as educational director at the First Baptist Church. Miss Perry this year received | her Masters Degree in Religious Education from the Southwestern Theological Seminary, Fort Worth Texas. She is a graduate of Win gate Junior College and of Mere dith College, and served for two years as a faculty member of North Elementary School, Gastonia. Her summer work has included positions with the Virginia State Baptist Board, North Carolina Board and Home Missions Board. She was associational Bible School director in Union Asso ciation for two years and last summer was associational asso ciate missionary in the Western North Carolina Baptist Associa te. SUIT GRADUATES | James Ray Suit, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Suit of Suit, received his degree of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Duke University this year. At pre sent he, along with his wife and two children, are at the home of his parentts, until July 1 when he will go tto Tapoco as consultting engineer. He is a graduate of Murphy High School.
