Woman Talk By EMILY CQSTELLO I wouldn't be a bit aurpriaed if Cupid himself isn't MRS. CORA BRYSON'S star boarder at the Henry House, after (leasing of the exciting nuptials to be Saturday night. Mrs. Bryson will be married to D. L. DAVIS, a native ot Cherokee County who has been living most recently in Springfield, O. The ceremony will take place at the Henry House Saturday at 6 p m? with Rev. J. Alton Morris of ficiating. A. MARTENS will be best man, and I don't know who Mrs. B's attendant will be. A ring ceremony will be used (Mrs. B. is wearing a mighty pretty diamind right now), and following the ceremony dinner will be serv ed. (Most appropriate for the H. House.) A number of guests will b e pre sent, including relatives of both the bride and bridegroom, as well a$ all Mrs. B.'s 'children'. (Thats what shee calls all of us who live or eat at her house.) The couple will not go on a wedding trip right away, but later in the season they plan a trip to California. And, by the way, she has told all her children she's not going to leave them?just getting them a 'daddy'. Anyhow, it will be very sweet and lovely and my blessings on [ | them both. I They will make their home at the Henry House, I am delighted to | report. STEAK MEAL DOT AND L. L. MASON en tertained Saturday night at steaks for 12 hungry people. I'm gaug ing everybody's appetite by our own.) Anyhow all were amply ser ved with wonderful steaks, and the usual Frenoh fries, and some grand tossed salad. Honored guests were MARIE AND JIM TUCKER of Black Mountain, and INEZ GALLOWAY (the former Mrs. Charles Gallo way who used to live in Murphy, you remember), and JOE TAY-I LOR, the latter two of Asheville.. Also present were JAUNITA AND BOB WEAVER and us and DOT.s sgn, Johnny, and the Weavers. Bobby. The two honored couples were spending the week end in our county. HOUSE HUNTING That nice TVA couple, the! BAUFMANS, are still house-hunt ing, I hear. I do hope they'll soon be confortably situated in Mur phy. At present they're here during the week, and back at Fontana, where they still 'have a home, on week ends. BEACHING OPIE AND HOBART MCKEE VER and ROSEMOND AND H. A. MATTOX have returned after about 10 days beaching at More head City. VISITORS BOB WHITES mother, Mrs, T. F. Royall of Wadesboro, and her sisters, MRS. RUTH JORDAN and MISS LILLIAN LINEBERGER of Charlotte, are expected today to spend the week end with Bob and Jean here. NEW ROOM SALLY MORRIS and ANNE SHIELDS last week visited rela tives of Sally in Anderson, S. C. While there they drove to Green ville and Sally and her roommate, an Easley, S. C.. girl picked out their room at Fur man?which they say is very roomy and well located HOME I THINK Pretty BARBARA RHOADS is back home alter spending some time in Asheville. Or at least she was home at the last count I made She might have gone again. DINNER AND MUSIC We had a wonderful time at the Farmer s Federation dinner the other night at the Regal Hotel, fol lowed by a most enjoyable musical program at the Cherokee Hotel, we heard the hilarious and famed PANHANDLE PETE. Was glad to see MRS. G. W COV ER of Andrews present and look ing mighty well. I hear Mrs. Cover had as her guest recently MRS. E, G. LEE of .Asheville Mrs. Lee is a member of the Asheville City School Board. MR. AND MRS. GENE MALLO NEE and children, Steve and Dav id, of Miami, Fla., are visiting Mr. Mallonee's parents, Mr. and Mrs Mallonee's" parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Mallonee, MR. AND MRS. C. R, FREED enjoyed a visit from son WILLIAM FREED and family over the week end. They are from Elkin and were enroute to Orlando, Fla. Also a visitor was Mrs. Kenneth Gore of Philadelphia, Pa., Mr. Freed's niece. THE YOUNGER SET Murphy's nice younger set enjoy ed a weiner roast at Cane Creek Monday night, with about every body "pitching in" and everybody attending. Sounds like a mighty happy affair but .the rain sent them indoors before they had a chance to eat. They finally ended up at the Baptist Church Besemeint I believe. And while on the subject of the young folks, it seems the attractive and eligible young men boarding at the Henry House this summer, are making it a nicer summer for some of the town's young ladies. RANCH, NO LESS I'm looking forward to a Sun day trip soon to Buck Creek Ranch between Hayesville and Franklin, for ranchstyle dinner. The ranch has been purchased and is being operated by MRS. GEORGE L. WRIGHT, formerly Virginia How ard of Murphy. Mrs. Wright and three children, Judy, Michael and Patrick are operating the family vacation spot this summer and will return to Highland Park, 111., in the fall to join husband-father, George, who Is working in Chicago I HYDE TO PREACH The Rev. Mrs. Lyddan and children who have been spending several weeks with the Ellises returned with Dr. Lyddan Monday to thir home in Louisville, Ky. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Bristol have returned home after an ex tended tour to Pasadena, Calif., Salt Lake City and Ogden, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Bristol of Og den returned to Andrews with the Bristols.
