Bowman was a native of Chero
kee County, son of the late Clay
bore and Georgia Perry Bowman.
He was employed for 15 years at
Petrie Hospital and was a deacon

He ia survived by the widow,
Mrs. June Whitaker Bowman; one
daughter, Mrs. Mary Bowman
Searcy of New York City, one son.

Rites Are Held
Graveside rites for" the infant
son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar C.
Smith of Murphy, Route 3, were
held Saturday, Sept. 12 at 10 a. m.
in Grape Creek Cemetery, with the
Rev. Mr. Swanson officiating.
Surviving, In addition to the pa
rents, are four brothers, Oscar, Jr.,
Harold, Bobby and Terry.

Mrs. Artie Lunsford ,71, died
Friday night In the home of a son,
W. B. Lunsford, Cleveland, Ga..
Route 2 after a short illness.
She was a native of Macon Coun
ty, the daughter of the late Samuel
and Katherlne Dills Neal, and had
lived in Cleveland for th? past six
years.
Funeral services were held in J
Phildelphia Baptist Churc^ near
Hayesville, at 2 p. m. The Rev. Sim
Martin officiated, and burial was in
the church cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters,
