odist Church near Hiawaaaee.
The Rev. Ralph Mabry, the Rev.
E. Lu Adams and the Rev. Jack
Ckxham officiated, and burial was

J. C. Scott Dies
In Culberson
J. C. Scott 72, died at his home
in Culberson at 9 p. m. Saturday
after a long Illness.
He was a native of Washington
State and had resided in Cherokee
County for a number of years. He
was a retired employe of the
Louisville and Nashville Railroad
Company.

p. m. Monday in the home. The
Rev. Thomas Truett officiated and
burial was in Shady Grov? Ceme
tery.
He is survived by the Widow,
Mrs. Lou Bryanlt Scott.

Funeral services for Riley Her
man Kilpatrick. 56, who died Fri
day in bis borne in Andrews alter
a brief illness were held Sunday at
2 p. m. in Valleytown Baptist
Ghuroh.

tor, officiated and burial was in
the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harve, Fred
and Steve Hogan, Dennis Sharpe,
Eber Glbby and Carl Cochrane.
He bad been engaged in farming
in the Andrews section.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs.
Cora Hyde of Hickory; two bro
thers, Raymond and Andrew of
Andrews and one sister, Mrs. Cora
'Hogan of Andrews.
He was married. In 1926 to Miss
Cora Gibby who died in 1937.
He was a native of Swain County,
the son of the late Elisha and Ba
sha Stephens Kiipatrick and mov
ed to Andrews in 1915.
