KNOW YOUR BOY SCOUTS
If someone asked you the ques
tion "What is a Boy Scout," what
would be your answer? Have you
ever attended their Court of Hon
or? Do you know all the achieve
ments a Scout must accomplish be
fore he becomes a Tenderfoot?
Scoutmaster Harold W. Katza
man gives a good answer to the
question of "What is a Scout?"
"To the little lad next door he is
a hero. To his buddy he's a 'good
guy' . . to his mother, a lovable
mystery. . . to his teacher, a prob
lem. . . to>his sister, maybe a pest
. .to you and me. a 'complicated
bundle of contraditions", needing
our guidance. He is a thing of act
ion; Hg is busy; he is doing things
. . jhe craves movement, activity,
and fun He went* eompaniacuhip
end fellowship He wait to "be
long" . . to be of Che gang and
with the gang. He is anxious to get
?bead. . .to achieve things he con
siders worth achieving, and to as
sume responsibilities; He desires
distinction among his fellows and
hopes to be a leader among them
He likes competition. He wants to
"know." His thirst for knowledge
is unquenchable and hie "whys"
and "hows" and "wherefores" in
terminable. He practices hero-wor
ship and Is not ashsmed to imitate
the things he admires in those be
looks up to."
These are the things that you
find in a Boy Scout. Why not sup
port your local Boy Scout troop by
attending the Nantabala District
Court of Honor for Boy Scouts

PROFIT HEWS FOR HOG MEH!
It's generally agreed that it takes an average of
five pigs per litter to break even raising hogs.
I
Last year the average hog man saved 6.44 pigs
per litter. So he had 1.4 profit pigs.
The Purina Farm Duroc herd recently averaged
9.15 pigs per litter. That left 4.1 pigs, about three
timet the profits the average hog man made.
Why not let the Purina Hog Program help you
