They find they can set np a sound system of farming by switch- ; ing to diversified production on their farms. Many are looking for credit nec essary to put in livestock enterpris es to go along with their crops and ire expecting to develop good pas ture for their livestock. This type of adjustment usually takes a few years for completion. Many operators af cash-crop farms say they are held back from making the adjustments be cause of costs Involved. If these coots cannot be handled by other local private or cooperative cred it. and If the proposed farming systems are sound, the Farmers Home Administration has funds for production or adjustment loans. In addition, many farmers need 1 ing loans lor only a year are find ing the credit they need at the Farmers Home Administration ceu nty offices. Long term loans for purchasing or developing famlly ype farms irc also avallahle, eith er as direct or insured farm own ership loans. No matter what type of credit is sought, Farmers Home Administra tion cannot approve applications ??rnm farmers whose credit needs can he handled by private or coop erative lenders. .Mr. Williams said.
