Miss Eleanor Enloe ? Is Wed In Charlotte MRS. ELGIN F. WHITE The former Miss Eleanor Enloe of Andrews and Charlotte. Miss Eleanor Enloe of Charlotte and Andrews became the bride of Elgin p. White of Providence, R. i I., on Sunday, Dec. 19 at Avondale 1 Presbyterian Church. Charlotte. I The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harlan H. Enloe of And rews and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Robert Gross and the late Elgin F. White of Miami, Fla. I The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Thomas W. McLean! and the Rev. Conard C. Washam. A program of wedding music was Presented by Mrs. J. a. Neely. organist, and Mrs. M. B. Wvche ' soloist. ' The bride was given in marriage ' by her father. C. Richard McKee of Davidson was best man. Ushers 1 were R. Kenneth Lown and John | Dillon of Charlotte and Jonathan Formo, brother-in-law of the ' bridegroom, of Greenville, S. C. The bride's gown, an original by Mrs. Kate Dekle, grandmother of the bridegroom, was of white Chantilly lace and nylon tulle over taffeta, it was fashioned with fit ted bodice, l?ig tapered sleeves and ? portrait neckline embroider ed in seed pearls. Tiny self-cover ed buttons fastened the gown at the back and wrists. The bouffant tulle skirt extended into a cotil lion train. Her double*tiered veil of il lusion was attached to a peari-en- 1 crusted shell of matching lace and taffeta. She carried a prayer book centered with a white orchid and surrounded with stephanotis. The bride's only attendant was Miss Patsy Washam of Bessmer City. She wore a gown of white taf feta with a full skirt and outlined at the neck and shoulders with tulle. She carried a white fur muff to which a red poinsettia was fast ened. Following the ceremony the couple received friends in the an- 1 nex of the church. After a short wedding trip, the bride and bridegroom returned to the home of the bride's parents in Andrews for the Christmas holi days before going to Providence, R. I., where they will make their home. The bride is a graduate of Mon treat College and Duke University Divinity School. She was employed for two years as director of Chris tian education at Avondale Pres byterian Church and for the past year' in the offices of the regional director of religious education for the Synod of North Carolina. The bridegroom is a graduate of the University of Florida. He was /mployed for four years as vanity gold coach and director of sports information at Davidson College, j) He is now serving in the same ca pacity at Brown University, Pro vidence He is a member of Sigma ?Delta Chi, a professional journal ism fraternity and Bigma Chi fra ternity. 'JACKSLADE' At mant theatre Grays Entertain At Open House Mrs. J. B. Gray and daughter, Miss Elizabeth Gray, entertained Saturday night at open house at their home here. Some 125 guests called during the evening. Coffee, punch, nuts, fruit cake and mints were served from the dining table which was overlaid yrith a white lace cloth and cen tered with an arrangement of red carnations and greenery flanked by white candles In silver candle labra Other floral arrangements fea turing gladioli and other flowers were in the living room.
