BULBS On Monday Februarg the 28fh he eight grade started selling light >ulbs for their trip to Raleigh. The lay after their supply of bulbs ave out because of overwhelming irders. As a result of their effort he 3 eight grade rooms have col scted 300 dollars. Unfortunately he class gets only 25c from each ollar. This will take ^are of most f the transportation cost. Brown, 58, the form er Miss Annette Wells, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. R. V. Wells of Murphy, died about 8 p. m. Mon day, March 21, in a West Palm Beach, Fla , hospital after an ill ness of three weeks. Mrs. Brown had resided in Ashe- ? vile aboue 35 years her home be ing at 64 Edwin Place. She was visiting her son, Dr. Edwin Brown in Coral Gables, Fla., when she became ill. Surviving, in addition to her hus band and son, are four brothers, H. Noland. Roy, and R. V. Wells, all of Murphy, and Robert Wells of High Point, and two sisters. Miss Loucine Wells and Mrs. John Thuss of West Palm Beach, three grandchildren, and several nieces arr" nephews and cousins. Funeral services well be con ducted some time Thursday in Central Methodist Church, Ashe ville. Bueck Heard By County NCEA Supt. H. Bueck was guest speak er at the meeting of the Cherokee County Unit of the N. C. E. A. held at Hiwassee Dam School last Friday night. Mr. Bueck spoke on his European tour last summer, and Mrs. Bueck slewed slides of the tour. Jerry Hall, president of the unit, presided. Dinner, carrying out the Easter motif, was served in the cafeteria. About 50 persons attended. Bueck Is Named On Lions Club Committee H. Bueck. member of the Mur phy Lions Club, has been appoint ed to the nominating committee for the Lions district governor elec tion for 1955*56, Glenn Patton, club president said.
