Church Offers $300 Scholarship The Sylva Methodist Church has announced a $300 scholarship to be awarded to a student or prospec tive student of Western Carolina College who ia an able organist. To receive the scholarship, the student would be expected to serve as regular organist (or the church, including a Sunday morning wor ship service, choir practice (usu ally one hour a week), funerals and special services. Applications will be made in a' letter form giving name, age, ad dress, amount of time student has studied organ and with whom, and a short paragraph stating what course of study to be followed at WOC. The selection will be made on the basis of auditions (the date to be announced later). The award is open to persons of all faiths. Mox Clark Has Birthday Party Mrs. Helen Clark entertained for her son, Mox on his third birth day with, a party Friday night, Mar. 11. He spoke on Tuberculosis ^ and the progress that Is being made in curing the disease. Stockholders To Meet In Asheviile The annual meeting of all Farm er* Federation Stockholder* will be held on the Buncombe County Courthouse, Asheviile, on March 16, beginning at 10 a. m., it has been announced by James O. K. McClure, president of the SS year old farm cooperative. County directors nominated to serve two-year terms at each of the Farmers Federation regional stockholders meeting will be voted upon by the stockholders, and re ports will be made by each of the Farmers Federation Department heads. Van Gorder, vice president; Mrs. Arthur Watkins, secretary and Mrs. John Rod da, treasurer. Of ficers will be installed at the April meeting. The Rev. Rheli ?Winters, rector of the local Episcopal cuhrch of the Holy Comforter brought the de votional message. Young Harris College Starts Expansion The board of trustees of Young Harris College has approved a $150,000 to $300,000 building ex pansion program which will pro McClure has also announced that J. 1 D.
