SHADY GROVE DEACONS An ordination of deacons will be held at the Shady 'Grove Baptist | Church Sunday, April 17 at 2 p. m. .Everyone is invited to attend. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar L. Roby of Silver ipring, Md. The Rev. S. Lewis Morgan offi ciated and the bride was given in marriage by her father. Miss Lucille Graham of Murphy was her sister's maid of honor and the bride's other attendants were Mrs. Evelyn Larimer and Mrs. Juanita Sewell. Edgar L. Roby was his son's best man and ushers were Walter Mor lin and Lee C. Jasjian. The bride wore a gown of white lace over white satin fashioned with a mandarin neckline and long sleeves ending in calla points. She carried a double white orchid mounted with streamers on a white Bible. Her veil of illusion was at tached to a coronet cap of lace and seed pearls. The honor attendant wore a floor length dress of pink lace and car ried a lavender orchid with pink streamers and small pink flowers. The bridesmaids wore blue lace dresses, fashioned like that of the maid of honor, and they carried pink roses showered with small pink flowers. Following the wedding a recep tion was held in the lower audi torium of the church. The bride wore a pink suit and pink and gray accessories for a wedding trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico where the couple will make their home. The bride Js a graduate of Hi was see Dam High School and attended business college in Washington, D. C. The bridegroom is a graduate of the University of Maryland and^ is now a lieutenant in the Air Force stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Miss Wells Is Bride Of Perkins In Florida Miss Rachel Loucine Wells, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roland Wells of Myrphy, became the bride of Malcolm Perkins, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward S. Perkins of Merchantville, N. J., Saturday afternoon, April 9, in the First Methodist Church of Coral Gables, Fla. The pastor of the church perform ed the ceremony. The bride wore a gown of mousse de sole over tissue taffeta with a bodice of Chantilly lace, a veil of French illusion attached to a head dress of Chantilly lace and carried a bouquet of white orchids and lil ies of the valley. Mrs. John W. Thuss wa* matron of honor and Mrs. Edwin W. Brown Miss Mary Wiley Stewart, Miss Ruth Blaylock, and Miss Hazel De Weese were bridesmaids. Clarence Holland served as best man. Class Has Review Mrs. Marion Wilson's home ec classes at Hiwassee Dam High School spiced their usual class routine recently with a home per manent demonstration, followed the next day by a fashion review. A new Toni permanent was given to a senior girl who was getting ready for the class trip to Florida. The permanent was supplied by the education department of the Tonl company. Mrs. Wilson was commentator for the fashion show in which students modeled dresses made at home and at school. Models were Sue Cook, Willia Lou Raper, Geraldine Henry, Rozella Cutris, Sylvia Williamson, Geneva Garrett, Corena ?avis, Hel en Picklesimer, Jeanette Hamby and Juanita Raper. I Road Work Reported By Highway Forces During February, the State High way Commission completed 16.87 miles of road improvement in the Fourteenth Highway Division, Commissioner Harry Buchanan said today.
