This Is an adult education service of Young Harris College. There were over SO persons in attendance. Robert Blakely, director of the Fund for Education, was a visitor from Chicago. The subject of discussion was the relationship between a college and a community. John M. CI egg and Claud H. Humph rey. SamCearley's Rites Are Held Funeral services for Sam Cear ley, 52, of Culberson, Route 2, who died Wednesday, April 25 in a Morganton hospital, were held at 2 p. m. Friday In Mount Zion Bap tist Church. ' The Rev. Buel Thompson offi ciated and burial was in the church cemetery. Surviving are two bro thers. John of Ranger and Luther of Murphy; and six sisters, Mrs. Wesley Walker, Mrs. Dee Watson of Gastonia, Mrs. Ed Stiles and Mrs. Ed Hooper of Jasper, Ga. Mrs. Sam Green and Mrs. Bob Rich of Culberson. Wheel- j er, brother of Luther Wheeler, An drews, has recently been assigned to the 2589th Air Reserve Flying Center, Dobbins Air Force Base, Ga. as a supply inspector. Sgt. Wheeler enlisted in the Air Force in 1M7 after serving four years in the Army. During U?la time he completed basic training a^t Cai^p Davis, N. C., served overseas with the 22Str> Station Hospital and the 10th Mountain Division, 3rd Battalion 85th Reg. While in the Air Force he spent one year in Korea and eight months in Newfoundland. Sgt. Wheeler la married to the i former Miss Dorris Arrowood of Murphy and has one child, Larry.
