The egg is over three Inches long and Is two Inches in diameter. 4 Baptist Camps Set At Truett Home Four weeks of camp for Baptist young people in this region got under way this week at the George Truett home place near Hayes ville. This week some 50 intermediate girls from the five Western North Carolina counties included in the , region, are attending the camp. Mrs. Edward Altland of Ashe ville. formerly of Franklin, is head of the camp; The Rev. and Mrs. Charles Leonard, former mission aries to China, are the missionary speakers. Also on the staff are Mrs. G. E. Scruggs of Peachtree and Mrs. B. B. Littleton, pastor's wife, of Franklin; and Miss Jo Williams from Monroe, summer worker in the Tuckaseege Association. Local ladies assist daily with cooking and serving meals to the campers. The camps are held Monday through Friday and include plan ned recreation, mission study, Bible study and vespers. Next week Junior girls will be at the camp. Mrs. Jim Berry of Franklin will be the counselor and the Rev. G. E. Scruggs will be camp pastor. Some 75 to 100 girls are expected to attend. The week beginning July 35 intermediate boys will be at the camp. Mrs. Altland will again be in charge. The week of August 1 Junior boys will be at the camp, and the Rev. John C. Corbitt will be In charge. Applications are still being taken for the camps. On Friday August 5, at the close of the final camp week as assoc iational Sunbeam Rally will be held with Mrs. Kenneth Woodard of HayesvlUe In charge. General manager for the camp Is the Rev. Johnny Grant, pastor of the Truett Memorial Baptist Church. Russell To Attend Study Conference The Rev. William L>. Russell of the Murphy Episcopal churches will attend a two weeks religious education conference at Sewanee University from July 17 through July 29. There will be no daily or evening prayer services at the Church of the Messiah during the two weeks, Mr. Russell said. The regular Sunday services will be the same at both St. Barnabas and at the Church of the Messiah, he said. To Preach Here Sun. The Rev. W. Jackson Huney cutt, superintendent of the Way nesville District, will preach at the morning service Sunday, July 17 at the First Methodist Church. Merle Davis, chairman of the of ficial board, will lead the service. In the evening the Rev. W. F. Elliott will preach. The Rev. Asmond Maxwell, pas tor, and his family left Tuesday for a two weeks vacation In Geor gia and Florida.
