Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Wood had as their house guests over the week end Mrs. Wood's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Lilley of Roper. Ensign Howard E. Holder of Nor folk, Va., has returned to his post after a weeks stay here with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Hold er. Mrs. L. O. Caldwell has returned after a visit with her son-in-law and daughter, Pvt. and Mrs. Harry Rogers in Columbia, S. C. Rev. and Mrs. E. F. Baker spent last week here at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilhide. Mrs; Baker left the latter part of the week for'Ridgecrest and Mr. Baker is spending some time at their camp near Wesser Creek. He filled the pulpit at the First Baptist church Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Zala Adams had as their guests over the week end their son. Dr. Lewis Adams. Mrs. Adams and their two children Car ol and Tom and their friend, Phil lip Hemric all of Lexington, Va. The Adams' were enroute to Clear water. Fla. for a vacation. Rev. International Chemical Workers Union Local 585 of Hitchcock and Minerals and Metals entertained its members and their families Shtvrday night, July 30.
