Newton, pastor, officiated at the .
double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs.
David Franklin Gibson and the
late Mr. Gibson of Centenary. Mr.
Farmer is the son of Glenn Farm
er of Elizabethton, Tenn., and the
late Mrs. Hattie Hayes Farmer of
Tomotla. He is the nephew of the
Misses Kate and Leila Hayes with
whom he has made his home since
childhood.
THE CHURCH
The church was decorated ii.
green and white. Gladioli and pom
poms were used in alter baskets a
midst palms and ferns. Candelabra
holding cathedral tapers flanked
either side of the alter. The family
pews were marked with white satin
bows. |
Mrs. G. C. Wallace of Mar
ion, S. C-, organist, and Robert
Mace of Greshman, C., soloist,
furnished the wedding music.
James C. King of Spartanburg,
S. C, was best man. Usher-grooms
men were Matthew a. Gibson cf
Centenary, brother of the bride;
David Stuckey of Hemingway, S.
C., nephew of the bride; A1 New
ton of Clemsor^ S. C., and Wallace
Reed of Spartanburg.

was matron of honor. She wore a
floor length rouge crysfalette

ried a crescent of white asters.
Junior bridesmaids were Misses
Libby Rose Stuckey of Hemingway,
niece of the bride; and Martha
Collier of Carolina Beach, cousin
of the bride.

They wore rouge nylon net dresse3
over taffeta with fitted bodices and
ruffled berthas and carried white
baskets of rose petals.
BRIDE'S DRESS
The bride, who was given in mar
riage by her brother, Ernest S.
Gibson of Centenary, wore a gown
of white Chantilly lace over nylon
net and bridal satin. It was de
signed with basque bodice point
|?d at the waistline and buttoned
down the back with tiny lace but
tons; nylon tulle yoke finished with
appliques of lace, and long fitte.l
sleeves ending In Calls points over
the hands.
The bouffant skirt extended
Into a chapel train. Her finder
tip veil of bridal illusion and
lace was attached to a shell
cap of sheered tulle outlined
with pearls. 8he carried a cas- I
cade bouquet of white roses
and lilies of the valley center
ed with a white orchid.
The bride's mother wore an ap
ricot chiffon dress with jeweled
neckline. Her corsage was of while
asters.
Miss Kate Hayes wore a mauve |
lace and chiffon dress with a cor-l
sage of white asters and Miss Le
ila Hayes wore a gown of powder
blue lace with a corsage of asters.
' RECEPTION
Immediately following the cere
mony the bride's mother entertain
ed at a reception on the lawn of
her home, beautifully lighted for
the occasion. Large baskets of
white gladioli and mums were
'placed at intervals agains. the
shrubbery.
The dining room was decorate I
in green and white with the bride's
table overlaid with an imported
cutvork cloth and centered witn a
triple tiered wedding cake, decor
ated with wedding bells, lilies of
the valley and swan and topped
with a miniature bride and groom.
The cake was flanked by tapers in
'silver candelabra.
Throughout the reception
rooms arrangements of asters
and rosea were used. Some
200 guests called at the recep
tion.
During the evening the bride and
bridegroom left for a wedding
trip, the bride wearing a pure riU
brown Italian tweed suit with whit<
weskit. She wore an original jewel
ed white felt hat, white gloves anc
brown reptile bag and shoes. Sh<
wore the white orchid from hei
bridal bouquet.

lege, Anderson, S. C., and grad
uated from Limestone College. Ga
fney, S. C., with a B. S. degree

day at the Canton Presbyterian
Church.
The Limes formerly lived in An
drews for some time when the Rev.
Mr. Lime was pastor of the And
rews Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Lime performed the cere
many and the bride was given in
marriage by L. B. Nichols of An
drews.
Miss Betty Heaton of Andrews,
was vocalist, and also assisted at
the reception which was held at the
manse following the ceremony.
