HIGH SCHOOL CONFUSION
One student says, "I know from geology and botany that the
world took millions of years to be formed." The Bible states that
God made the world in six days.
"I know from science that man is so much like the monkey."
The Bible says, "God created man to His own image and like
ness."
Is there an answer to such doubts and confusion? Yes! True
religion and true science always agree because truth is one and
God is the author of all truth. First, a fact in science must remain
a fact in religion; but, a man must make sure he really has a fact,
a certain rf-uth, not just scientific theory that has never been
proven. And second, a man must make sure he is defending true
religion, not just a private opinion on some religious doctrine.
True science, rather than destroying or even weakening relig
ion, confirms and illustrates it in every truth it discovers.
Next week this column will take up a question on evolution.
As a working principle we know that whenever science provides
real truth, it must agree with Divine Faith, because God is the
author and preserver of all truth.
