" "cool-teens" will do, if one

11 the other boys, boasts an inter-!
isting pair of sox ? one of a kind ! ]
Vnd Snipe Winfrey painfully fol-j
lows suit' with unmatching shoes,
one of which he swapped with
some other boy.
None of the girls will offer to'
straighten JERRY REIGHARD'S
bow tie for fear of the enclosed
contents. It sure does look odd to j
see boys in levis and bow ties. The
Senior boys have flipped their
lids and all of the other boys will
probably soon follow suit. I
NEW SUBJECTS
Two new interesting subjects;
which students are enjoying this,
year are dramatics and journal
ism. Prior to this, they had been
included only as clubs but they
are electives this year and count')
a unit. Two other new subjects j
being taught are chemistry and
French.
NfiW FACES
We have several new students in
Andrews HI this year. FRANCES j
LUNSFORD, a freshman, recently I
moved here from Virginia. From J
Robbinsville ye have VIRGINIA .
GARLAND, a junior, and from
Murphy, NORA BUCHANAN, a|
senior.
We have a new teacher, MRS.
SAWYER, who is teaching French
English. In addition to these
" e are 84 freshmen taking . the
Mmes of the 48 seniors who grad
ated last spring.
I SENIOR 8HIN-DIG
The senior class had their first
party Saturday night at the Shell
Dining Room. The main attract
Ion was the "sock dance." A few
shoes were misplaced but all were
recovered from various places in
the end.
f Everyone had a wonderful, time
and the time is near when the
Senior Class will get together a
1 gain. The party was chaperoned
( by Miss Jean Christy and all
games and activities were thor
oughly enjoyed ! '
PEP SQUAD
The spirits of AHS are at their
I highest peak due to the efforts of
i Miss Ruth Hamilton. She is the
! sponsor of the newly organized
Pep Squad. At present it is made
up chiefly of the Girls' Advanced
P. E. Class but anyone who is in
terested In cheering the Wildcats
to victory is welcome.
BETA ai'B
An installation program for
members of the Beta Club is plan
ned for Wednesday, Oct. 5, in as
sembly. The sponsor of the Beta
Club is Mrs. Aline Bristol.

ded Robert Hay; Vice-pres, Caro
lyn West; Secretary, Ardith Hay:
Treasurer, Noel Edwards.
Other members are Kate Pass
more, Jerry Pullium, Wilma Crisp
Wayne Battle, and Janice Watts.
CATS VICTORIES
The "Wildcats", under the coach
ing of BILL TEAS are really go
ing places this year. They sparked
first of all when they defeated the
"Bulldogs" 14.6. Sept. 4. The
"Panthers" fell next by the way
side at 27-0.
The "Cats" let no-one win and
defeated the "Blue Devils" by a
good margin of 27-6. And just last
Friday night they walloped the
Havesville "Yellow-Jackets" with
a final score of "6.0.
Coach Teas is very optimistic a
bout the future of the team as are
all the students of AHS. The team
has a lot of experience and we re
cognize the whole team as a fine
bunch of sports ! ! We wish to. con
gratulate them on their success so
far and best of luck Friday night
against the Cherokee "Braves".
