John Nelson officiating. The bi*de wore an egg-shell col or dress of rayon faille with beige accessories. Her corsage was ot yellow rose buds. Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Beck of Detroit.' Mrs. Beck wore a navy blue suit with a corsage of red rose buds. The bride is a graduate of An drews High School, class of 1952. She is presently employed as a secretary for Republic Steel Cor poration in Detroit. Mr. Ahonen is a graduate of Calmut High School and attended Suomi College. Mich igan Tech and is a graduate of Univenpity of Michigan .He is em ployed as a teacher in Rosevillo public schools. He was well known in northern Michigan in hockey and baseball circles. I I Nursery Be Held During Course | A children's nursery will be held , at the Campbell Folk School. ! Brasstown. for the children of mothers attending the Home Nurs ing Course, to be held Oct. 3-8. Sponsored by the Red Cross, the Home Nursing Course will be taught each afternoon for two hours by Miss Eva Hensley and Mrs. Oran Witt. Both instructors received their training in a 30 hour Home Nursing Course last April. Creative play materials which can be made at home will be in cluded in the nursery program Pre-school children will have an opportunity to play together as well as to enjoy various types of toys and play activities. Miss Susan Swartz, Antioch Col lege student currently working at the Folk School, will supervise the nursery. Each day one mother will assist Miss Swartz. Anderson on Modem' Laundry Methods. In addition to the steps in laundry methods she demonstrated a simple test for water hardness that can be made at home. The differences between soaps and syndets was also demonstrat ed The three general groups of syndets were discussed as follows: mild, all-purpose, and specialized synthetic detergents. Mrs. Anderson weighed an eight pound wash load to show how easily a washer can be over loaded. The members were asked to put into practice the methodr demonstrated. A color motif of pink and white was observed in refresh ments and decorations. The table was centered with a crystal bowl of pink and white as ters. The annua] Berkshire family pic nic was held Saturday Sept. 24 at the plant in Andrews. The program began at 10 a. m and continued into the afternoon. A potluck dinner was served at noon followed by games and con tests. Presbyterians To Hold Communion The Murphy Presbyteria Church, together with other churches over the country, next Sunday will ob serve World Communion Sunday. Andrews Lutherans To Attend Meet A Stewardship Workshop con ducted by the Stewardship Com mittee of the United Evangelical Lutheran Synod of North Carolina will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, Hendersonville, Friday, Sept. 30, 7:30 - 9:30 p. m.
