Mr. Fuller is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Fuller of Murphy. The wed ding will be an event of June. Valley River Garden Club Meets Recently With Miss Frances Cover The January meeting of the Val ley River Garden Club met with Miss Frances Cover at her home Thursday afternoon. Election of officers and the de cision to start the Garden Book library in which each member will purchase a book during the year featured the meeting. Miss Cover, the president, presid ed and announced plans for a Thrift Sale" to be held in the near future for benefit of T>eautifying the PERSONALS Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilson left Sunday for California. They have been visiting Mrs. Wilson's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Barnett and Mr. Wilson's father, Mr. Bi ligh Wilson, all of Marble. They were accompanied by Mrs. Wil son's brother, Joel Barnett. Hospital grounds. She also an nounced that Mrs. C. S. Freel's book "Our Heritage, The People of Cherokee County" will be off the press at an early date. Mrs. John Christy gave the treasurer's report and Mrs. Zeb Conley read the minutes of the last meeting. Mrs. R. A. Dewar chairman of the nominating committee which included Mrs. J. E. Iluity, Mrs. C. Nichols, secretary and treasurer and Mrs. Dewar, histor ian. Installation at new officers will take place at the February meet ing to be held at the home of Mrs. Zeb Conley. , . H Johnson o f Shoal Creek, Cherokee County. The Johnsons were married Feb ruary 3, 1907 and have lived on the same farm fpr 43 years. Besides being a farmer, Mr. Johnson work ed for Tenn. Valley Authority for several years before rearing at 68. The Johnsons have one daughter, Mrs. Charles F. Dr&lle of Akron, Ohio; one grandson, Peyton N. Dr&lle of Akron and one grea* grand-daughter. Winona Hedden Weds Boyd Arrowood Winona Hedden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hedden of Route 4 Murphy, became the bride of Boyd Arrowood, eon of Mr. and Mrs. John Arrowood of Route 1, on January 11. The ceremony was preformed by the Rev. Gibbs W. Liggin at the Towns County Parsonage of Hi a wassee, Ga. ' Those attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Lee Hedden, brother and sister-in-law of the bride. Donna Wilkins Celebrates Birthday Mrs. R. L. Wilkins entertained at her home ' Saturday for her daughter, Donna on her fifth birthday. Guests were Debbie Waggoner, Betty J. Wells, Ellen Davis, Mary D. Cheney, and Diane Wilkins. The table was centered with a white birthday cake bearing five pink candles. Ice cream was served with the cake. Games were played and favors were balloons and chewing gum. Lochaby Honored At Shower Mrs. Harold Lockaby, the former Miss Geraldine O.Dell was hon ored by Mrs. Cecil Mills and Miss Clara Mae Townson with a misce llaneous shower last Thursday night at the TAC. A color scheme of green and white was carried out in decora tions and refreshments. The table was decorated with iris andd ivy and a miniature bride stood at one end, the punch bowl at the other. Punch, cake and green and white mints were served. The gifts were displayed under an umbrella on another table. Mrs Kenneth Davis had charge of games. About 60 guests were invited. Andrews Soldier Based In Germany PFC. Glen C. Hardin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gay Hardin, Andrews, N. C., is a member of the 11th Air borne Division in Germany. Hardin, a rifleman in the divi sion's 188th Infantry Regiment, entered the Army in January 1955 and completed basie training at Fort Bragg, N. C.
