Advice To Farmers On Social Security Farmers subject to self-employ ment tax must have a social secur ity number in order to receive social security credit, Glenn H. Pittenger Manger of the Asheville | social security office, said yes l terday. He offered the following advice to farm operators who have a net profit of $400 or more from self-employment from the farm and any other business: If you not have a social security card, apply for one at your nearest social security office. If you have lost your card, ask for a duplicate card with the same number. If it is not convenient for you to go to a social security office, you may obtain a blank application at your post office. Fill it out and mail it to the Social Security office serving your area. If you already have a social security number, do not apply for another. Use the same number to report any and all earnings. Your account number must be shown on Schedule F of your in come tax return to insure proper credit to your social security account. Failure to furnish the correct number may result in loss of benefits. FOR SALE: 8- room house, 5 miles from town on paved road. Water and lights, wired for electric stove. Reasonable Price. Religious Paintings Theme Of Bible Class Meet A program of Religious Paint ings of the Great Masters featured the meeting of the Sara Dewar Bible class of the First Methodist church in the home of Mrs. Her mann K. Brauer on Monday night. Mrs. Brauer, who is an artist, chose three artists from the Renaissance periifl, Lion a r do da Vinci, Michael A^ffelo, and Rafael. Against a background of soft recorded music including, Med- i itations, from Thais: Barcarolle, from Tales of Hoffman and other favorites. Mrs. Brauer illustrated her talk with a number of reprod uctions, illustrated books of Great Paintings and magazines. In presenting the picture of the Last Supper she said "This picture is the masterpiece of da Vinci, which was a fresco in a convent at Milan, and required two years to complete, calling attention to the fact that the 12 are separated into four distinct groups united by gesture of hands or movement of the head. Another artist, Angelo, was des cribed as not only famous for his paintings but also renouned for his sculpture. His work of art as portaryed in decorating the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel with the be autiful frescos that may be seen i today, shows he has no rival. Included in the important works ' of Raphael she mentioned the large number of Madonnas in which he displayed his finest 1 talents. A social hour concluded the . meeting. Mrs. Roy Williams pr esided at the tea table which was ' centered with an arrangement of , white hyacinths. PERSONALS Mr*.
