MAY COURT Last Friday the eighth grade elec ted the May Queen and her court. Three girls were chosen fronj each home room to be in the court. Then all the home rooms voted to select the queen and maid-ci onor from these nine. Wanda Dillingham will be crown ed May Queen by Larry Stiles. Es sie Williams is maid-of-honor. Her escort will be Jimmy Klllian. Parker took Ann Parker to Brenau in Gainesville, Ga., Sat urday to a "house party" for girls entering Brenau next fall. After the others had left for Mur phy and she had registered, Anne vent to a tea at the president's tome. At 5 the girls had a weiner roast. The first of the evening acti vities was a play "Sally Fresh man" about life at Brenau at 8. They went swimming in an indoor pool at 10 Saturday night. After wards they returned to the ZTA sorority house where the college students entertained their guests Arith skits. Sunday morning she attended the Presbyterian church on the cam pus and ate lunch in the dining hall. Ann plans to study elementary education at Brenau next year. ARCHIE ANDREWS Tryouts for the parts in this year's senior play, which will be Archie Andrews, were held last week. Most everyone will recognizt "Jughead", Betty, Veronica, Arch ie and some of the other characters from the comic book series. Miss Juliet Pegues and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Gault are directing. The play ers are Bill Browning as Archie Andrews, Patty Worthen as Mar tha, Sue Anderson as Mom, Wayne Marshall as Dad, Judy Sneed as Betty, Bernice Thompson as Mrs. Jenkins, Barbara Griffith as Gene vieve, Gene Allen Palmer as Jug head, Kenneth Kephart as Boy, Becky Rhodes as Veronica, Benny Pipes as Pinky, Harold Barton as Mayor Higgins, Sarah English as Agatha, and Howard Arrowood as Uncle Oscar. ' It has all the earmarks of a hil arious comedy. So the student body | are eagerly awaiting April when it will be presented. The fourt period Home Econom ics class went on two field trips last week in order to see examples of the "House Inside and Out" which has been their topic for the past few weeks. Among the types of houses visit ed were remodelled making it two stories, a two family house, which might easily be used for one big family, a split level house exter ior of old brick and a large modern house with different types of rooms for different phases pf family life. Among interior things noted in all the houses were wall paper, paint, ' floors, floorcoverings, and period furnishings. The Senior Economics class vis- j ited the new school site this week. They were impressed with the col ors that have been used, having just finished a unit on color in the home, office and School. Pace is a rifleman in the Infan try's Company B. He entered the Army in September 1956 and com pleted basic training at Fort Car son, Colo.
