A Mrs. L. D. Schuyler entertained
at the TAC Friday night from 7:3C
to 10 o'clock in honor of her daugh
ter, Lynda on her twelfth birthday.
For recreation, the sroup engag
ed in square dancing, round danc
ing and proms.
Sandwiches, cookies and coca-co
las were served. Mrs. Schuyler
was assisted in entertaining by
Mrs. Ruth Cheney.

baby girl, Leta Melinda, February
22 in a Johnson City Hospital. The
baby weighed 9 lbs. 13 ozs. Mrs.
Ladd is the former Miss Jean
Lovingood and both parents arc
from Marble. Mr. Ladd is a student
at Tennessee State College in John
son City.
Miss Clarissa Kincaid of Rome
Ga. spent the week end with her
sister, Mrs. R. H. Foard.

hassee, Fla. entertained for her
son, Uu, on his sixth birthday Sat
urday afternoon at the home of hei
iister, Mrs. W. G. Darnell and Mr
Darnell.
The play room where games were
played and refreshments served,
was decorated with balloons- tied
to pink and green crepe paper
streamers. The table was covered
with a white "Happy Birthday"
cloth and centered ,with a Jack
and the Beanstalk birtMlay cake,
surrounded with spring, flowers.
Musical chairs and pin the head
on the donkey were played in the
piay room and drop the handkerch

ed on the lawn.

Mrs. John Roper of Philadelphia,

New York City arrived Friday to
attend the funeral services of their
brother Garland McGuire held
Monday at Robbinsville. .They will
remain for a visit this week with
their brothers, Gerald and Glenn
McGuire and their families.
Robert Hay, student at North
Carolina State College, Raleigh,
and his roommate Carlos Garcia oi
Holguin Cuba, spent the week-end
with Robert's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Tom Hay. They were accomp
anied back to Raleigh by Mr. Hay
by plane Sunday.

returned from Gastonia where they
attended the funeral of their nep
hew Arnold, son of Mr. and Mrs
Dock Phillips of Kings Mountain,
who was killed ill an automobile
accident in Coco Beach, Florida
Wednesday.
