Society News and Club Activities Laurie Hardin Honored Cn 11th Birthday Mrs. R. 9. Hardin honored her daughter, Lauria, with a party March 19, in the Recreation Room of the Episcopal CKurch from 7 to 9, in observance of her eleventh birthday. The chorUb was directed by Mrs. Vsmond Maxwell and accompan .ed at the piano by. Mrs Duke ffhitley. Several numbers were rendered, and among them were 'Oh Vreneli", a Swiss Folk Song; "Brahm's Lullaby"; Jerome Kern's "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes", "Beautiful Dyeamer" by Stephen Foster; and "Lift Thine Eyes" by Bartholdi Mendelssohn. Twenty-one girls composed the chorus. Mrs. L. L. Mason, president, presided and urged the group to continue their canvassing for funds for the Swimming Pool Project. After the meeting the Club start ed rehearsals for the Fashion Show to be held March 29. Students Home For Spring Holidays Feted Mrs. L. B. Nichols and Mrs. Jos eph Sursavage, entertained Miss Judy Bristol and her house guests Miss Nancy Mehaffey, of Vivian West Va? and Miss Carol Justus of Wooster, Ohio, all students at Kings College, Bristol, Tenn. who are spending the spring holidays here with Miss Bristol's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwn Bristol, with a buffet supper Sunday evening at the home of Mrs. Nichols. Guests included: Senior High Fellowship of the Presbyterian church. Following the supper, Miss Jan ette Carringer was in charge of the program. Mrs. Donaldson Presents Quilt To Marble School All officers were re-elected at the meeting of the Marble PTA on Thursday evening held in the cafe torium of the school. They are: Mrs. Jack Baxter, president; Mrs. Frank Walsh, vice president; Mrs. Ralph Kilpatrick, secretary and Mrs. Edwin Barnett, treasurer. Mrs. Carl West gave a lecture on the United Nations and illus trated her talk with slides.
