Phone VE 7-2125 ? Murphy, N. C A SMART INSURANCE BUYER'S COMMENT "I buy my insurance from an agent or broker lor the same reason that I buy my honey from a grocer rather than from the bee. While I might save money by dealing directly with the bee, there's a possibility my lack of training, knowledge and ex. periencc would result in my getting stung." HYDE INSURANCE AGENCY DIAL VE 7-2438 - Murphy, N. C. MR. CAR BUYER: Don't Be Misled.... BY THE FALSE OR MISLEADING CLAIMS OF OUT-OF-TOWN AUTOMOBILE DEALERS Every day, in the newspapers and on television automobile dealers in the larger cities advertise cars which they claim are cheaper because they have a larger volume of sales or because they are willing to take a smaller percentage of profit. Right now, most of them are promoting the theme that their larger volume en ables them to make a smaller profit per unit. Actually, no business can operate without enough profit to cover its cost of. operation and while it's true that their volume is larger than the small town dealers, their expenses are also higher. Rent is higher for the large city busi nessman, taxes are higher and salaries are higher, and, too, they must have a large number of salesmen who are paid a percentage of the price of every ear they sell. Add to that their enormous ad vertising bill and it's easy to see that they, like everyone else, must have a reasonable profit on every ear they sell to stay in business. Your local dealer can't afford to mis lead his customers. His livelihood de pends on repeat business because there are not enough potential buyers in a small town for him to be able to sell a customer a "lemon*' then forget him. He must and does guarantee every ear that he sells, new or used, to be exact-, ly as represented and if it's not, he will make it good. He is your friend and neighbor, and the man who goes to your church and sup ports your community. And in the long run, any car you buy from him will be cheaper by far.
