Turkey Tradition
Continues During
Holiday Seasons

table is an American tradition dat

should be relatively cheap as a
result of this large supply".
It seems that turkey is popular
the year around, too. According to
Mrs. Uzzle, we eat more turkeys
today than ever before. The aver
age consumption per person has
increased from 2.2 pounds in 1936
to 5 <8 pounds in 1957. From this, ty
is apparent that any day is turkey
day in America today; whereas
before, turkey was only associated
with Thanksgiving and Christmas.
They say that human figures
have changed considerably over
the past years? and the same can
be said of the turkey. The modern
turkey, so improved over the years
that it is literally a new bird,
comes both smaller and larger
than its ancestors. It is also meat
ier and more tender, plumper and
