Presbyterian Women Hold CbratmasMeet ANDREWS? The Women ot the Church of the Andrew* Presby terian Church held its Christmas meeting in the home of Mrs. Lee Nichols Jr., Monday evening. Mrs- Ben Ray vas in charge of the program. The women had drawn names at the Nor ember meeting, and gifts were exchang ed following the program Each member brought a wrapped toy_ for a child in the Presbyterian' Mountain Orphan age in Black Mountain- Also, a gift of money was sent to the Orphanage. Refreshments were served, and a period of fellowship follow ed. Mrs. E Rayburn Presents Program At Baptist B.W.C. ANDREDS? "Let's Keep Christ mas" by Peter Marshall was pre sented by Mrs- Mabel Rayburn at the Christmas meeting of the Business Woman's Circle of the First Baptyst phurch Thursday evening at the home of Mrs- J. V- McGuire hostess Miss Trilby Glenn, chairman, conducted the business. It was voted to purchase drapery mater ial for the pastors study- Gifts of food were brought for a basket to be sent to a needy family. They had a turkey dinner with *11 the trimmings, and a lovely pro gram of Christmas scripture and carols was given by the Rer. and Mrs- R. T. Houts. They were as sisted by Mrs- Merle Davis and Mrs. Dorothy Marshall. Mrs Houts and Josephine Moody sang Chinese. Korean and ancient car ols accompanied by Mr. Houts. Mr. Houts closed the program by singing "O, Holy Night." with Mrs. Houts at the piano Miss Leila Hayes, president of the Guild presided- Miss Adella Meroney, Mrs- John Bay less, Mrs John A- Davidson, and Miss Clara McCombs were hostel i*j. Those present, in addition to those on the program were, Miss Kate Hayes, Miss Errily Sword, Miss Josephine Heignway, Miss Addie Le&therwood, Miss Marvie Walker, Mrs. Edwina Hagaman Mrs. Neil Davidson, Mrs- W- M Fain, Mrs. H. G. Elkins, Mrs Charles Worthen, Mrs. Glenn Bat es, Mrs. Neil Sneed, Mrs Duke Whitley, Mrs- T- A. Case, Mrs. Annie Brandon, Mrs. Sam David son, Mrs. C. L- Alverson, Mrs Hugh Brittain, Mrs- C- W. Zirbes, Mrs. Willard Axley, and Mrs. Jer ry Davidson. Rev. and Mrs. T- C. Christmas and their children spent Friday ind Saturday in Knoxville, Tenn. Mrs- W. T. Holland will leave this week for Aiken. S. C- where she will spend the holidays with her daughter Mrs. Jack McCran ey and her family Rev. and Mrs- Vitolds Gobins spent Saturday in Atlanta, Ga Mr. and Mrs- Marion Ennis spent the week-end in Asheville. Andrews Teachers To Be Honored By Konnaheeta Club A program of Christmas music will feature the meeting of the Konnaheeta Club Thursday even* in* following dinner at 7 p. m. ia the Marble cafetorium The music department of the club will present the program lin ger the direction of Mrs- Edwin Carter, chairman, with Mrs Robert Heaton and Mrs. Florence Huffman. Special guests will be members of the faculty of the Andrews School unit which includes Mar ble Elementary School. Peggy English Feted On Tenth Birthday Miss Linda English, entertain ed for her sister, Peggy, wit'a a surprise birthday party last Thurs day at 4:30 p. m-, it being the oc casion of Peggy's tenth birthday anniversary. Christmas decorations were used over the house and refresh ments of cake and hot chocjlate were served. A variety of games were played, and an array of lovely gifts was opened.
