Club Activities Barnes Entertain English Guests Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Dick) Sadler and daughter, Caren, of London, England, have been vis iting Mr. and Mrs. N. H. Barnes. This was Sadler's first trip to America and a mountainous country and were greatly impress ed by this region. Mr. Sadler is the brother of Mrs- K. W. Carroll of Atlanta Mr- Carroll is Mrs. Barnes' bro ther. Mr. and Mrs. Carroll and daugh ters, Sandra Lorraine and Lola Dianna, and sons, Jack and Scott, were also guests of the Barnes' recently. Mall Thomas O- Mull, seaman, USN, son of Mrs. Violet Clonts of Cul berson Route 2, is serving aboard the attack aircraft carrier USS Midway which departed the states August 16 for an extended cruise in the Western Pacific as a unit of the U. Dr. and Mrs. Vivian Gibbes of Knoxville, Tenn., were guests of Dr. and Mrs. F. E. Blalock for a visit last week-end. Air. and Mrs. John H. To Meet Murphy Chapter No. 10 Order of the Eastern Star will meet Thurs day (tonight) at 7:30 in the Mas onic hall. Mrs. Alice Morley, worthy matron will preside. County agents have the information needed on the various varieties QUESTION: Does it pay to feed silsge on a year round basis? ANSWER: Dairy specialists at N. C. State College say "yes." They offer as proof the 83-cow herd at the college dairy farm. For the year ending June 30, the cows averaged 11,596 pounds of milk and 472 pounds of butterfat. The cows had quality silage avail able at all times. However, the amount consumed depended on the lushness of the pasture. Cotton is stronger when wet. Conley Family Host To Faircloth Reunion ANDREWS? A reunion of the Faircloth family was held last week at the home of Mr. and Mr*. Zeb Conley. Guest* in the Conley home were: Mr. and Mrs. Croom Fair cloth and son, Maurice, of Clin ton, Mr. and Mrs. James Fair cloth and daughters, Alice Wade and Ann, of Tuscaloosa, Ala. Croom and James Faircloth are brothers of Mrs. Conley. Also guests were Mr. and Mrs E. B. Hauge and children, Lee, Johnny, Sammy and Ricky, of Wilmington, Pel.
