High School. He was employed with

before entering service.

course of Air Force basic military
training at Lackland Airorce Base.
He has been selected to attend
the technical school for firefighters
at Lowry AFB, Colo.
Airman Smith is agraduate of
Cherokee High School.
Basic airman at Lackland are
selected for specialized training at
technical schools on the basic of
their interests and aptitudes. They
are reassigned to the school after
four weeks of basic, and are given
additional military basic training
along with the technical subjects.

Husband
Completes School
PFC Roy W. Wiggins Jr., 23, who
se wife. La Vean, lives in Murphy,
recently graduated from the Seventh
Army Typing School in Stuttgart,
Germany, while serving with the
379th Signal Battalion in Germany.
Wiggins a clerk in the battalion's
Headquarters Detachment, entered
the Army in July 1958, completed
basic training at Fort Jackson, S. C..
and arrived in Europe last Febru
ary.
He is a 1954 graduate of Athens
High School and attended Young
Harris College. Wiggins was emplo
yed by Southern Bell Telephone and
Telegraph Company in Atlanta, Ga.,
before entering the Army. His pare

tonight. The delectable fresh peaches in the filling are sweetened
and thickened to perfection with vanilla pudding and pie filling
so that every bite of this heavenly pie retains all the natural fruit
flavor and color. So easy to make on top of the range, the filling is
prepared in minutes, cooled and spooned into a baked pi* (hell.
Fresh Peach Miracle Pie
2 cups diced fresh fully ripe
pcaches (5 to 6 peaches)
VJ cup sugar
IV, cups water
1 package vanilla pudding
and pie filling
V* teaspoon salt
teaspoon nutmeg
teaspoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon butter
y, teaspoon almond extract
1 baked 8-inch pie shell,
cooled
Combine peaches, sugar, and 1 cup of the water in a saucepan.
Bring to a boil. Meanwhile, combine pudding mix, salt, nutmeg,
lemon juice, and remaining \\ cup water. Stir to form a smooth
paste. Add to boiling fruit, stirring to blend. Then cook and stir
until mixture comes to a full boil. ?,
Remove from heat and add butter and almond extract. Cool 5
minutes. Pour into pie shell. Let stand about 4 hours, or until
firm. Serve with sweetened whipped cream and additional sweet
ened sliced peaches, if desirrfl
