''islic Bags
Are Menace
To Children '
As cool-\v??ather clothes are
brought ou! of storage this season,
coverings of plastic bags again be
come a menace to children.
An electrostatic charge may be
generated by friction from hand
ling the bag. The youngster; while
peering through, Is apt to have the
bag literaUy grab him through the
electrical attraction to his face.
Tlv child cannot tear It. Death by
suffocation may result? as It has
in tragic instance after tragice in
stnace during the past year.
The bags should iv?ver, under
any circumstances, be used for
falceshift covtrings for pillows,
fal' shift coverings (or pfllows,
riajvs. playpens or cribs.
Tte child should never be given
the opportunity to handle one of
ttose bags. That means that when
they are removed from clothing,
tey should immediately be shredd
ed, or tied in knots and put in a
tighlty covered disposal can.
The bags can prove as lethal
as a loaded gun or a bottle of
poison? and should be so treated.
