It is romantic looking on the outside, contains a flash of spice on the inside ... as fine a formula for romance as it is for cake. Under the pink, elegant frosting and heart decorations is ? cake tangy with chopped canned apple slices, raisins and nuts. Yet with it all. the cake is soft, light and rises cloud high. Minus its Valtine decorations, this cake can grace any party. In fact, any occasion it's served practically becomes a party. Happily, too. the cake is easy and fun to make. Here's how it goes. *4 cup butter 1 'i cups sugar 3 eggs, large 3 cups sifted all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt Hi teaspoon baking soda 1 1 2 teaspoons cinnamon I Vz teaspoons nutmeg >2 teaspoon cloves ?j cup milk H? cups finely chopped canned apple slices W cup chopped walnut meats Vj cup seedless raisins Confectioners' Sugar Frosting Chocolate Candy Hearts Cream together butter and sugar: add eggs, one at a time, beating after each.
