Four Juniors represented the association in the Junior Memory Work Tournament. They were Nancy Harris, LuAjm Long, Kay Leming and Billy Christmas. Cheryl Derreberry will represent the association in the Intermedi ate word drill. Rummage Sale Nets $101.37 ANDREWS-The W.S.C.S. of the Methodist Church made $101.37 from their rummage sale this past week. Hie money was donated to the building fund for the new par sonage. ANITA LUTHER ANDREWS - Miss Anita Lut her has accepted a position at the Duchess Beauty Shop after graduating from the Gastonia Beauty College She worked at the La Vogue Beauty Salon in Gastonia before returning to Andrews Bloodmobile In Andrews On T uesday ANDREWS - The Red Cross bloodmobile will be at the An drews City Hall on Tuesday. May 3, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. It is extremely urgent that as many donors as possible be pres ent. A great number of pints of blood are being used each week in the District Memorial Hospi tal. War ren. of San Diego Calif., are spending this week with Mr. and Mrs Cliff Richardson Airman First Class Jack Thorn ton, wife, and daughter, Tina, from Wichita Falls. Texas have arrived for a visit with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Mclvin Thornton. Mrs. R. A. Dewar spent three days this week with Mrs. Ger trude Smith in Asheville. Tommy Brauer, who is sta tioned at Lackland Air Force Base, arrived in Atlanta Friday. He was met there by his mother. Mrs. Mary Brauer and returned to Andrews with her for a ten day visit. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Presbyterians Plan Andrews Conference The Women of the Presbyterian] Church in District III will hold their annual conference at An drews, on Saturday, April 30th. Coffee hour and registration will gins at 9 a.m. The meeting will convene at 10 a.m. Mrs. R. E. McClure of Ashe ville will bring the inspirational address Others having part on the program are Mr. L. B. Nichols! of Andrews who will give the in vocation, Mrs. R. A. Potter who will lead the devotional. Dr. R. E. McClure, Executive Secretary of Asheville Presbytery will bring a short message, Mrs, W. B. Fergu son, Presbyterial president, a short message, and Rev. James A. Pippin, of Hayesville will give (he closing meditation. Mrs. Robert Heaton of Andrews will be at the organ and Mr. Ed win Barlow of Andrews will sing a solo. There will be work shops for the Presbyteria! Committee Chairmen and their locals. Presbyterial Committee chairmen will also speak for their work. The local presidents will ask timely and though provoking questions of the audience. The five Presbyterian churches of Bryson City. Franklin, An drews, Hayesville and Murphy will send delegations. Mrs. E. H. Brumby, chairman of District III will preside. Konnaheeta Woman's Club To Present Show ANDREWS? The annual Talent Show sponsored by the Konna heeta Woman's Club will be pre sented in the Andrews High School Auditorium Friday eve ning at 7:30. There will be a variety of tal ent-dance numbers including bal let, tap, folk, square, bop and buck dancing. The contestants range from age 4 to 40. If you enjoy songs, stunts and dances done by boys and girls, you should be on hand for the best show of the year. The admission is 25 cents for children and 50 cents for adults. Andrews Births Mr. and Mrs. Adam Taylor, Friday evening voted to award the contract for the construction of the new church parsonage to Andrews Builders Supply Co. Con struction is to begin some time this week. The parsonage will be located on a lot about two blocks from the church, recently pur chased from the Harlan Enloes.
