May, 41, of Hayes ville, who died Tuesday, May 3 in a Brooklyn hospital, were held at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Truett Me morial Baptist Church of Hayes ville. The Rev. Billy Fox, pastor; ind the Rev. Claude Young of ficiated, and burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. May was a son of Mrs. J. M. May and the late Dr. May )f Hayesville, and had spent 17 years in maritime service. Cole property in Hothouse Prop erty. $10,000 Bond Set For Truman Cole Truman Cole remained in Mur phy County Jail this week after bond for bis release was set at $10,000. The 59-year-old Fain Moun tain section man was arrest ed early this month following the slaying of Boson H. Hickey, 65. Hickey died of knife wounds. Police said that Cole told them that he cut the man in self de fense. Hie case has been bound over to the July term of Cherokee county Superior Court. THE RET. T. M LEE The Rev. Thomas Monroe Let, 91, of Brasstown Rt 1. died Wednesday, May 4. He was a native of Lumpkin County, Ga., a eon of the late Samuel and Avaline Chambers Lee, and was a member of Many Porks Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Minda Henderson of Brass town, Mrs. Lora Henderson of Warne, and Mrs. Lona Sutton of Murphy; four son s, Jim of Blairs vilk, Ga., Joe and John of Hayes ville, and Frank of Brasstown: 34 grandchildren; S 7 great grandchildren: and three great great-grandchildren. Services were held Friday at 10 a.m. at Many Forks Baptist Church. The Rev. Ham Coffey officiat dcd, and burial was in the church cemetery. Ivie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. ARTHUR GRAHAM Arthur Graham, 78. of Cul berson Rt. 2, died at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday. May 4, following a heart attack. He had been a merchant for 25 years. Surviving are the widow. Mrs. Clydie Walker Graham; a daugh ter, Mrs. Nellie Carnes of Gray Eagle, Minn.; two sons, James of Murphy Rt. 4, and Jerry of the home; two step-sons, Clar ence King of Culberson, Rt. 2. and Gordon King of Murphy Rt. 4: two sisters, Mrs. A. C. Campbell of Blue Ridge. Ga.. and Mrs. Maggie Stiles of Charlotte; two brothers, Ernest Graham of Mur phy Rt. 4, and N. B. Graham of Culberson, Rt. 2; and eight grand-' children. Services were held Friday at 2 p.m. in Fairview Church. The Rev. Thomas Truett and the Rev. Fred Stiles officiated, and burial was in the church cemetery. Townson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. MRS. ADDIE ALLEN Mrs. Addie Allen, 67, of Murphy Rt. 4, died at her home at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, after a heart attack. Surviving are her husband, El den B. Allen; three sons, Luther Burgess and Howard Allen of Murphy Rt. 2, and Willard Allen of Murphy; a daughter, Mrs. Frances Henson of Murphy Rt. 4; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a brother, Harri son Davis of Englewood, Tenn.; and two sisters, Mrs. Arce Bur gess of Etowah, Tenn.. and Mrs. Callie Hamby of Murphy Rt. 4. Services were held at 1 p.m. Friday in Fields of the Wood Church of which she was a mem ber. The Rev. Lloyd Strickland of ficiated, and burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Grand sons were active pallbearers. Ivie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. JOHN A. STEWART John A. Stewart, 82, of Warne, died at 7 p.m. Friday in a Mur phy hospital after a long illness. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Alice Brown Stewart; two sons, Arthur of Hayesville, and Roy of Murphy; three daughters. Sirs. John Beech and Mrs. Fred Frank lin of Hayesville, and Mrs. W. A. LEVI BENTON PUETT YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. - Levi Benton Puett, 71, of Young Harris, Ga., died early Sunday, May 8 in a Murphy hospital after a long illness. Services were held at 3 p.m. Monday in old Brasstown Baptist Church of which he was a mem ber. Mr. Puett was a native of Towns County Ga. He was the son of the late J. D. and Zennie Brown Puett. He was a retired farmer, carpenter and veterinarian. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Maude Emerson Puett: three daughters, Mrs. Glenda Wilson of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Beuna Lof Brendle of Duluth, Ga., and Mrs. Christine Ingle of the home; three sons, Oren of Young Harris, Wat ter of Murphy, and C.
