Tommy Size Wins At Mineral Show Tommy Size won first plaec in the Junior division at the 10th annual convention and show of the Eastern Federation of Gem and mineral Societies with his collection of Thumbnail speci mins. Tommy will enter the national Federation next Summer in Miami, Florida. Dr. Size won second place in the handcraft sterling sivler division. The Size also attended the show at Spruce Pine, N. C. Mr. Roy Clark of New Port.i Virginia was elected President and Margurite Collyer of West Nyack, Nev York was elected Secretary. Many people from Murphy and also foreign counties visited the show. Named To State BP&W Club Post Mrs. Juanita V. Weaver, im mediate past president of the Murphy Business and Professional Woman's Club, has recently been notified of her appointment K Chairman, by the State president, Mrs. Stella H. Spencer, of Lenoir. Mrs. Weaver was installed as president when the Murphy BPfcW Club received its charter in May 1961 and was re-elected by acclamation a second term after her oustanding work with the cldb on both a state and local level. She has made manv valuable contacts for the cli? throughout the state at numerous state and district meetings. Murphy can well be proud of the BPfcW club for the out standing work it has done in the community since its organisation, and the bonor bestowed upon It and Mrs. Weaver by having her named to a state committee.
