C. -Clemson College will boat 33 outstand ing high school bands from North and South Carolina act (he annual Band Day fastlv idea on Saturday. October 1. The Murpby High School Band, under (he direction of Mr. Ed Reynolds will participate to | this annual event. The colorful Clemson Col lege-Virginia Polytechnic In stitute football game will form the backdrop for the half- dme performance of some 1,500 vlsldng musicians and about 500 supporting participants - including color guards, twirl ers, strutters, band letter carriers, acrobats, mascots, I and drum majors. : Parade of bands will begin at 1 p.m. from the assembly ' point at Bowman Field and ! proceed to Memorial Stadium. The Ware Shoals High School Band will open the pre-game : ceremonies. Dean of Student : Affairs, Walter T. Cox, will j welcome all guests and visit I ors. Following the invocation | the Tiger Band will play the | National Anthem to signal the start of the game. ? At half-time, the massed i bands will assemble at mid field for a series of six features. Mr. Wagner will direct a salute to all South Carolina with ?he plavtnx *Mu*t a Little Bit South of North Carolina." To Participate In Campaign J. H. Baylesa ?nnm avert today that the Murphy Blectrlc Power Board will participate In the Tenneasee Valley Pub lic Power Association's fall electric dryer campaign. The campaign features a cash bonus of $15 paid to any realdentall consumer of the local electrical distribution system who buys aqd install* an electric clothes dryer during the campaign period. The campaign opens during the week of October 10 and runs through December 10. Some 80 power distributors will participate. According to Mr. Bayles* consumers who purchase an electric clothes dryer during ' the sales promotion program will get a $15 cash bonus from Murphy Elec. Power Board. To collect their bonus, con sumers need only bring a copy of their bill of sale to the Power Board Office.
