Scroggs, 87, of Hayesvllle, died Thursday, November 17, in a Waynesvllle hospital after i long illness. A daughter of the late Jas per and Rebecca Cherry Scro ggs, she was a member of the Presbyterian Church In Hay esvllle and of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is a retired Clay County librar ian. and a school teacher. For a number of years she taught In New Mexico among the Indians. She is survived by a num ber of nieces and nephews. Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Ivie Fun eral Home Chapel of Hayes vllle. The Rev. Jack Heintzelman officiated and burial was in the Presbyterian Cemetery. Eller, Glenn Eller and Veril Verlie Eller, all of Robbinsville, Roy Eller of Belmont and John Eller of Hayesville, N. C.: 40 grand children and six great-grand children. He was the son of the late James Asbury and Annie Beard Keenum, one of Cherokee County's prominent families. He Is survived by the widow, Mrs. Laura Beavers Keenum; four daughters, Mrs. Elease Cole and Mrs. Jimmy Dobbins of Gastonia, Mrs. C, E. Dean of Farner, Tenn. and Mrs. Faye Stiles of the home; five sons. Clinton and Lenell of Gastonia, Hubert of Niagara Falls, N. Y? Guy of the U. S. Navy stationed in Edzell, Scotland, and Tommy of At lanta; three brothers, R.
