MRS. WILLIAM G. DARNELL, JR. MISS WANDA JO TOWNSON WEDS WILLIAM GORDON DARNELL, JR. The wedding of Miss Wand* Jo Suzanne Townsend and Wil liam Gordon Darnell, J r., was solemnized on Monday, De cember 26, at four-thirty o' clock at the First Presbyter ian Church, HainesCi-y, Fla. The Rev. Albert Reese, Jr., pastor, officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Le Roy Townsend of Haines City, Florida and the groom, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam Gordon Darnell of Mur phy, North Carolina. Palms formed the back ground for the candelabra, which held lighted cathedral tapers. These were garland ed with" pine roping. The pine garlands also were placed in the windows and used as pew markers. Mrs. Robert Pettlt. organ ist, played the nupdal music. Miss Josephine Pettle was soloist. The bride, given In marriage by her father, was radiant in a floor length gown of peau de Ange lace and silk taf feta. A bateau neckline out lined with lace In a floral motif, enhanced the sculp tured bodice and short shir red sleeves. The bouffant skirt, trimmed with applique of lace, extended over full crinolines. Her veil of pure silk illusion, fell from a min iature crown of pearls and sequins. The bride carried a crescent bouquet of white gardenias and stephanods, in terspersed with garlands of amllax. Miss Mary Charlotte Town send. sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a street length gown of white reembroldered lace over rose petal pink taffeta. The slim sheath was complemented by a shirred sheer organza over - sklrt. Her headpiece was of rose petal pink organza with a circular face veil. She car ried a cascade of pink Per fection camellias. Mr. W. G. Darnell, father of the groom, served his son as best man. Ushers were Mr. David H. Rogers III, cousin of the bride, and Mr. Lester I. Collier, Jr. of Haines City, Florida. The bride's mother was at tired In a frost mocha dress of ChantHly lace, featuring a square neckline and chiffon side drapes over a sheath skirt. She wore a raspberry petal bat, mocha accessories, .and her corsage was of pink glamellias. The groom's mother chose a dress of lilac lace and match ing accessories. Her corsage was of pink camellias. The reception following the ceremony was held at theHal nes City Woman's Club. Mrs. Dick Mason of Tampa presided over the table which held the bride's book. For her wedding trip to an undisclosed desdnation, Mrs. Darnell wore a blue-green woolen suit with a plaid walking-length coat In blue green and brown with a green velvet collar. Her accessories were a matching green velvet hat, and brown shoes and purse. Her corsage was of green symbldlum orchids. The couple will reside at 563 South Crest Road, Chat tanooga, Tennessee.
