Three Coffees are being given by Mrs. Walter Cal houn at Shell Diner, Mrs. Steve Owens at City Cafe, and Mrs. Toby Hampton at Hamptons Cafe, Saturday, Feb. 25, all during the day. Fire Destroys Home Andrews - The home of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hardin was completely destroyed by fire Saturday. The Hardlns were not at home at the time of the fire. Neighbors noticing the blaze turned in an alarm. Volunteer workers were unable to save the building or furnishings. Catherine Wood Honored On Sixth Birthday Andrews -Mrs. Burke Wood entertained at her home on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 3 p.m. honoring her daughter, Cat herine Ann on her sixth birth day. A birthday cake centered the table. Valentine motifs were used in decorations. Mlnature windmills were given as favors. Refreshments of cake, pink lemonade, ice cream, and candy were served to die 26 guests present. WSCSTo Meet Andrews - The WSCS of Andrews and Murphy are join ing together for a two-session study on "Basic Christian Be liefs" which will .be taught by Mrs. Florence Houts. VHD Club Meets Andrews. - The Valleytown Home Demonstration Club met Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 2p.m. at the home of Mrs. E. U. Burch. Miss Thelma Wheeler, Home Economics 'Agent gave .the demonstration "Comfor table and Presentable Work Clothes." Mrs. E. U. Burch, presi dent, presided during the meeting. Konneheets Womans Club Hears Exchange Students Andrews - Two exchange students through the Ameri can Field Service one from Turkey, the other an Ameri can told of their respective adventures Thursday at the regular dinner meeting of the Konneheeta Womans Club at the Hampton Cafe. Linda Morrow of Franklin and Adem Unal of Turkey, seniors at Franklin High School, each gave their im pression of the foreign land where they were members of the program. Allan Brooks, president of Franklin Rotary Club and a representative of the Ameri can Field Service accompan ied them to the Andrews meet ing and expressed the wish that local organizations would participate in this service. Husbands of Konnaheeta .members and Rotations were invited guests. In the absence of Mrs. James Baer, president, Mrs. D. E. Pulllum presided. Miss Linda ENIs Honored With Shower Andrews - A bridal shower was given In honor of Miss Linda Ellis, bride-elect of Bobby Howell on Thursday night, February 16 at 7 p.m. at the Methodist Fellowship Hall. Hostesses wereVeraMoore and Mary Jo Battle, Nancy Stoudt, Carolyn Thompson, and Ann Pulllum. Refreshments of punch, sandwiches, cookies, mints, and nuts were served to ap proximately sixty guests. VR Garden Club Andrews - The Valley River Garden Club will meet today (Thursday) at the home of Mrs. Peter Hlobil at 3 p.m. Mrs. A1 Brown will serve as co-hostess. Explorers' Report Successful Bake Sale Andrews - The explorers of Andrews Post #410 wishes to express their appreciation to those people who gave their time and effort in making their bake sale on Saturday, the success that it was.
