In First Methodist Church. Rev. O. P. Smotherman, pas tor, officiated at the double ring ceremony. Music was presented by Mrs. Dan Hawk and Carolyn Thompson. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore cham pagne colored wool and satin sheath with matchlag satin headdress and she carried a white Bible with cluster of yellow orchids. Miss Ann Pullium was her only attendant. She wore a dress of blue silk shantung with matching headdress snd carried a bouquet of pink car nations. P?ggy Hordii Hoaored Ob Fovrth Birthday Andrews - Mrs. EUen Har din entertained at her home Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. honoring her daughter Peggy on her fourth birthday. After games were played, refreshments of birthday cake, ice cream, and cokes were served to the following: Ann Brooks, Phyllis Hardin, Janet Hardin, Gail Jordan, Allen Sharp, Charlene Jor dan, Marlin Blalock, Becky Postell, Susan Postidl, and Phillip Wilson. Andrews Lions View Film At Meeting Andrews - A film, "American Engineer," was shown at the regular Lions Club dinner meeting, Thurs day, at 6:30 p.m. This film ?was provided by General Motors and made accessible through A. B. Chandler, Jr. It was shown in technicolor describing familiar scenes of Fontana Dam, State Fair Building and many other pla ces of interest, demonstrat ing the many types of engineers who took part in completing these places. The Lions made it possible for all interested HlghSchool stu dents to see the film during assembly in the school auditorium this week. Two new members were welcomed at this meeting. They were Rev. Roy Trexler, pastor of St. Andrews Lutheran Church and Rev. Edward Whltson, pastor of Presbyterian Church. We shall never have more time. Hoyle At Clearwater, Fla., spent the weekend in Andrews. He is the son of J. E. Hoyle, Sr., a former pastor of the First Baptist Church, who served in Andrews in the year 1918, later returning in 1929 and spending two years. Mr. Hoyle attended services Sunday, greeted manyfriends, and stated the church looked familiar to him even after his absence of many years. Explorer Troop Soos Blue Algols Film Andrews - Chief Mintzi, Navy Recruiter, who Is pre sently stationed in Murphy, met with Explorer Troop 401 at their Thursday meeting at 7 p.m. at the City Hall. A film, "Blue Angel"was shown to the group, describing Navy Jets and the life of a Navy man. The Explorers metSaturday at the gymnasium and played basketball. Alverson With "Objects D'Art" Local Lodies Learn Wood Carving And WoodwoHcingAt Folk School One phase of the adult edu cation program at the John C. Campbell Folk School is learning to work with wood. In both the wood carving and wood-working groups, there is much interest on the part of those participating. The picture above shows Mrs. C. A. Cogglns, Landsca' Supervisor with the State Highway Commission. It will be Mr. Coggins pur pose to help an interested group decide what to do and how to proceed in a project to beautity the roadsides on a community basis. Anyone interested to hear what Mr. Cogglns has to offer in that phase of the State Highway's responsibilities is cordially invited to be present. To encourage the improve ment and beaudficadon of their roadsides, one of the members of the group helped a local man to decide to pick up trash from the homes in the Brasstown Area.
