Leonard McDonald Dies In Raleigh Hospital Leonard McDonald, 51, of Murphy died in a Raleigh hos pital, Thursday afternoon, March 30th after a long Illness. Surviving are the mother, Mrs. Dovie McDonald of Mur phy; three brothers, Olen and Fred of Murphy and John D, of Raleigh: and four sisters. Colbert Participates In Exercise HEIDELBERG, Germany - Army Pvt. Melford Colbert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vardle Colbert, Route 3, Murphy, N, C? recently participated with other personnel from the 5th Surgical Hospital in Exercise Last Time, a Seventh U. S. Army medical field training exercise In Germany. The exercise was designed to provide die participating units with practical exper ience in evacuadng patients from simulated battlefields. Colbert, a records clerk at the hospital in Heidelberg, entered the Army in 1952 and arrived overseas on this tour of duty in February 1959. He attended Murphy High School. Willie Mae Dockery of Mur phy. Services were held Satur day at 2:30 p.m, in Ebenezer Bapdst Church. The Rev. Weldon West of ficiated, and burial was In the church cemetery.
